GAIA 5.0 at Milan Digital Week

Renate C.-Z.-Quehenberger created the video art work GAIA 5.0 – A holographic Image Ambience (the picture above shows the so-called hyper sphere of planet Earth) with Lydia Lunch (Sound & narration) in collaboration with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF, Reading, UK) and Leyla Kern at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, and with scientists at the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission in Ispra, Italy. This piece of art was commissioned for the Resonances III Festival DATAMI at the JRC in Ispra in October/November 2019 and at the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels in December 2019/January 2020.

DATAMI hosts now a dialogue between artists and JRC scientists at the Milan Digital Week and features JRC’s Resonances III from 26 to 29 May 2020. This dialogue is about SciArt and Communication between sciences and arts.

Renate C.-Z.-Quehenberger is invited as live guest. Her discussion concerning the GAIA 5.0 project will take place on 28 May 2020, 11:00 – 11:30 CEST. You can follow the discussion via live streaming here. Further participants are curator Freddy P. Grunert (JRC – DATAMI & ZKM), Frank Raes (JRC Meteorologist), and Giannino Malossi (Blumine R&D).
