Chinese partner for information and society studies

Our Institute is starting a joint research programme together with the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. 

Both sides signed an agreement and are set to support the following research activities in the fields of the study of complex informational systems (technology, society and humans) and philosophy of science

  • the development of joint studies, in particular, application for the funding of common research projects;
  • exchange of postgraduate and PhD students; they will benefit in long-term stays from collaboration with researchers at the respective institution (according to the laws and regulations of the respective country); 
  • exchange of researchers for short- or long-time stays. 

The Xi’an Jiaotong University, located in Xi’an, Shaanxi, is a top university of China, belonging to the so-called C9 League (comparable to the “Ivy League” universities in the West). It is the hub of the University Alliance of the Silk Road.
