“Humanity has a choice: cooperate or perish.”
This truth was spoken out by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in his opening day remarks at COP 27 in Egypt. The photo above, taken at the closing plenary sessionon 20 November 2022, gives an impression of where the outcome of COP 27 is taking humanity: it seems not yet decided.
This holds not only for climate change. This holds for the war being fought in Ukraine too. This is true for any other social, ecological and technological disaster with global impact.
However, the longer it takes humanity to make a decision, the sooner a tipping point can be passed, which is a point of no return.
