Evolution of Information Processing Systems –
On the role of intelligence in evolution

When information processing- and information using-systems are viewed under an evolution-paradigm, one of the challenges is to find what possible form information and information-processing could have had in a pre-biotic environment.

In my presentation, I will show a model of how this early form of information could have been evolutionary effective and how it could be connected in one line of successive environments and environmental selection criteria to sophisticated forms of language information and IT of today. Special emphasis will be given to how the evolution of intelligent behaviour in Biology might have influenced the evolution of information processing and in which forms information became capable to appear after having found its way into being stored in form of genetic information.

Evolution Informationsverarbeitender Systeme –
Über die Rolle von Intelligenz in der Evolution

Wenn Informationen-verarbeitende und Informationen-nutzende Systeme aus Sicht der Evolutionstheorie betrachtet werden, besteht eine der Herausforderungen darin, herauszufinden, welche mögliche Form Information und Informationsverarbeitung in einer prä-biotischen Umwelt gehabt haben könnten.

Im Vortrag werde ich ein Modell aufzeigen, wie diese frühe Form der Information evolutionär wirksam gewesen sein könnte und wie sie in einer Reihe von aufeinanderfolgenden Umgebungen und umweltbedingten Selektionskriterien zu den hochentwickelten Formen von Sprach-Information und IT der heutigen Zeit geworden sein könnte.

Besonderes Augenmerk wird darauf gerichtet, wie die Evolution des intelligenten Verhaltens in der Biologie die Evolution der Informationsverarbeitung beeinflusst haben könnte und welche Formen die Information annehmen konnte, nach dem ersten Vorkommen in Form genetischer Information.
