Globalization, Social Information and Social Epistemology

Within the framework of the Social Information Gatherings (SIG 2025) – organised by the GSIS Emergent Systems Research Group – at this year’s Summit of the International Society for the Study of Information (IS4SI) (that takes place every two years), we held an online panel together with the International Alliance for the Study of Social Epistemology (IASSE) (that was founded recently). The meeting was hosted by the Institute of State Governance Research and the Social Epistemology Research Center at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan, China. The topic was “Globalization, Social Information and Social Epistemology”.

The meeting was recorded. Have a look at the video. It features 13 invited presentations from Austria, China, Italy, Macedonia and from the UK (3 additional persons, among them 1 from the USA, could not make it). You will find the names, affiliations and titles at the programme here. You will find the video on our video site under the point “Meetings” with the list of actual presentations and at which time they appear in the more than 4 hours footage.

We are grateful to our Chinese colleagues for making this first IASSE meeting happen.
