From Homo oeconomicus to Homo cooperans

Our Member Vangelis Papadimitropoulos co-authors with Giannis Perperidis a chapter in The Routledge Handbook of Cooperative Economics and Management. This more than 500 pages volume was published on 23 December 2024 in London (imprint 2025).

Chapter 26 is On the foundations of open cooperativism. It is a plea for the replacement of “homo oeconomicus with homo cooperans” and it describes the model of open cooperativism as means of “a commons‐based post‐capitalist transition toward an ethical and sustainable economy”.
