The book project with that title ended, eventually, in the book release. Wolfgang Hofkirchner and Hans-Jörg Kreowski edited this volume. It contains 15 chapters organised into four parts concerning philosophical, military, technological and sociological aspects of transhumanism.

The project was supported by the Special Interest Group Emergent Systems, Information and Society of the IS4SI (International Society for the Study of Information) – which is also a working group of the Leibniz Society of Sciences to Berlin e.V. and GSIS – as well as by the Forum of Computer Scientists and IT-Professionals for Peace and Social Responsibility (FIfF e.V.).
